Hi All,

Today I noticed that one of my chickens had a watery poop that was a white liquid with soft brown poo. It is different from the normal poop so I thought I would ask if it is an indicator of anything that needs treatment? I feed them scratch with dried mealworms and oyster shells for grit every other day along with their regular feed.

The calcium is not digestive grit., it's only for laying hens, to provide the necessary calcium to form eggshells. All the chickens need crushed granite grit for their gizzards, this is for digestion.

The oyster shell and grit both need to be available at all times, every day. I don't know how much scratch and worms you are giving, but they should only be getting about 1 Tbsp per chicken. Think of those as being like cake and ice cream, special treats given occasionally. If they get too much they'll eat less of their good balanced nutrition (meat and potatoes) from their commercial feed.
