Howdy CTKen

I am guessing you have seen these poop charts or similar but posting them just in case:

Or

http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/02/whats-scoop-on-chicken-poop-digestive.html

On the first one those poops probably fall into the caecal or worm category and on the second one, caecal.

As you have wormed them, that leaves caecal.

It could just be an after affect of the worming as oldhenlikesdogs has suggested.

Mainly just posted to say thanks for putting me off peanut butter, I knew it wasn’t good for me every morning when I put it on my toast .. switching to Vegemite

Thanks for the links - much appreciated. Just plump for crunchy peanut butter in the future

Could be normal, but might not be... Can you take a fresh sample to the vet and have it checked for coccidia, worms and bacteria?

Hi folks, I have yet to see the culprit in action, but i noticed these poos this morning (around 20 minutes after i let them out of the coop) and they for sure are not the usual "beauties" i see. Looks like they've been at the peanut butter :) I'd be grateful if anyone could make any suggestions as to what may be causing it. I de-wormed them last week, so that should not be the issue. Many thanks to you all in advance CT
What wormer did you use? Cecal worms and capillary worms can be a little harder to treat than large round worms. To me the poop looks like abnormal cecal poop, which makes me think cecal coccidiosis or cecal worms. -Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Its called levacide. In the absence of veterinary opinion, i think what i am going to do is try another round of the wormer (combined with a dose of antibiotics) and thereafter (if things don't improve) move to cocci treatment.

Many thanks for your input
