my chickens are pooping in the nesting boxes 95% of the time. Is this normal and can I get them to stop

Are they sleeping in them at night?
That's the usual cause for poopy nests.
Make sure your roosts are higher than the nests, and that they use roosts at night.
You can block the nests just before roosting time, then open them back up when you lock up after dark.
