Pooping in Next Boxes

I have a hen who seems to be pooping in the nest boxes. They have plenty of roosting bars that are higher than the nesting boxes. This is happening during the day when hens are laying their eggs. Any ideas? Thank you!

I have 15 hens and 6 nesting boxes

Well, that should be plenty. Can you watch them? Maybe they are fighting over one box or something...

They could also be hiding from something... my hens flew up in the nest boxes when they first saw a turkey.

I found poop in one of nesting totes too. I guess I should try to figure out what's going on. I use covered totes

I don't think so...they are big deep boxes...maybe there is one that is mad at me...hahaha
