pooping in waterer

I use a 5 gallon pail underneath my waterer. It fits perfect. It's about level with their back. I use a lot of shavings for a little height for the chickens.

For outside I just fill a 5 gallon bucket. They do not perch on it and can just about reach the water when it's full, and it's always full. No poops. I leave it by the hose. Makes life easy.

Why don't they make poultry waterers and feeders that are taller to start with???
I don't have a place to hang one, so I have to experiment with all these weird methods and materials to elevate them while keeping them stable.

Get to inventing one! Go on you can do it!

I have one of those hanging avian clean waterers - It works well. My little chicks are bent on poop soup!

I change their water often and I think they secretly wait till my back is turned and then poop in the water! -No wait they are chickens....oops my cat is calling me to bring her food - Hey! Who is training who? Stop ringing the bell cat!!!! My pets have that whole pavlov conditioning thing reversed and are training me!!!!

I just might. Too bad I am not more creative!

Just remember, pets secretly rule the world. They just do it more quietly than the humans who have tried to in the past...that way no one notices that we are actually their slaves.

It is scary, isn't it? The thought occurred to me when I was trying to get out of bed one workday morning, my big hound was laying across me and wouldn't get up...I told her, "I have GOT to get up and go earn YOU a living"...she immediately got out of the way & let me up

Well, absolutely-she's no dummy! When I get done whining and crying after paying my bills and looking at what I've spent money on-I look at the dogs, out the window at the chickens and think of the horses at the barn and say "Ohhhhh....now I get it"!! Duh!! lol

Ahhhh, the things we do for our critters!
