Poopy butt

Clean it up.. using running warm water and Dawn dish soap if needed to break up hard clumps. If warm weather return when done. If cool blow dry feathers.

If no rooster for mating.. trimming the feathers off might be an option instead.

Also, if possible get a fecal float to confirm any internal parasite load. Don't treat what you don't have.

Also, make sure the skin looks normal around the vent and not angry red. If angry red, be on the lookout for external parasites... either lice or mites.. it happens to birds with outdoor access sometimes and doesn't mean anyone is dirty or a bad keeper. Just means we deal with nature on its' terms is all.

I usually have a few birds that need poo bumms cleaned up once a year or so. :sick

If it's a bird that doesn't come freely for handling.. I do these activities AFTER they have gone to roost.. using a flashlight and keeping it dim to prevent any chasing or commotion. :)
