Just got my chicks today and one has a buildup of poop stuck to her butt. Should I just wait it out or any tips to get it off?

Don't leave it be - if the chicken is plugged up long enough it will die. Just soap up the area, work the crud out, and then dry thoroughly . Some Vaseline on the area may prevent more buildup. Or carefully trimming off feathers around the spot. Some say adding apple cider vinegar to the water (I don't know the dosage) prevents it from happening again.
It's called "pasty butt,"

X2 what DD said. Ratio for ACV is 4-5 tablespoons to a gallon water. Keep an eye on the little one for a recurrence in the meantime and clean it off as soon as you see it. Pasty butt is fatal if left untreated.
