The three 11 month old comets I purchased a couple weeks ago all have poopy butts. It is not clogging the vent area, just kinda looks like they sat down in some poo and smeared it all over their butt fluff. I took stool and had it vet checked and there are no signs of parasites. Is there something I could do for the girls to correct this problem?
Thank you so much!

If they have plenty of fresh water, feed and space, it ought to resolve on its own. You can soak them to remove the old stuff -- I always held them under a gentle stream of running warm water -- takes some time but is easy on everyone. Then put a little Vaseline, Crisco, olive oil -- anything greasy -- on the vent to encourage new poop to slide off.

Thank you! I was going to wash their butts when the weather got a little warmer this week. It could be they are just dirty from where I got them. It was dark when I picked them up and couldn't see the coop too well. They my have been laying in feces and that could be the reason. Their poop does seem a little softer and more wet than my other hen. I just wanted to make sure there might not be something I am over looking :)
