I hope this is a random rambling topic, because I'm sure it's crazy for me to consider asking . Do you wash the poo off your chickens feet ? If so do you think handi wipes are safe to use ?

The bedding should be clean enough that they have clean areas to wipe any poo of their feet; if not, unscented wipes will work fine. Keep in mind that the dirtier your chicken's bedding is the higher the risk they will develop serious foot problems such as bumblefoot.

When my girls feet start getting dirty, means dirty eggs so  Poop board & picking up the "big" stuff in the shavings help. I also ferment their feed (less poop, not stinking & firmer plus the digestive part). I add shavings when I see it's not so "fluffy" in there (bumble foot prevention), change out about once a year.

There bedding I keep very clean, I thinknthey just have a knack for stepping in it hahahha. They're also in a small starter coop tha6 they will out grow by spring so mu.plan is to build an 8x8 coop for them . I do like the idea of the poop board. They are still young 8.5 weeks ish and won't venture to far from the coop into the 8x8 run I have , unless provoked by treats lol. So with that in mind and them constantly staying close together when adventuring results in them stepping in their poo more. I'll have to keep am eye on them and watch for any signs of that bumble foot ,but I feel like the main cause is just being shy and possible starting to out grow the starter coop.
