Poor feather quality question

Where did you learn that? I've read that giving extra protein during a molt was helpful in growing out new feathers and helping them get through the molt stronger. They stop laying eggs too so it must take a lot out of them right?

No it doesn't take lots out of them it's a natural process so they are fine eating normal feeds..

That doesn't even make any sense. If it doesn't take a lot out of them how come they stop laying and act differently? They have to grow new feathers and that has to take a bit of energy from somewhere.

mabye, i only compared the two at my own local grocery store, i noticed the nutritional yeast had more niacin and b vitamins

Nutritional yeast is also tasty for humans as well. I know vegans make Mac n cheese with it and it’s great on popcorn. My ducks love it they gobble it up fast.
