Just a few weeks after nursing my poor girl Little back from what seemed like death's doorstep (coccidiosis and sour crop) I think she now has fowlpox (see pic) - am I right? I've been reading there's no cure so any thoughts on what I can do to keep this girl as healthy as possible would be great. My other girls don't have any signs or symptoms, so any suggestions on keeping them safe?

She looks to have a very mild case of fowl pox so far. In FL, LA, Tx and other deep south states pox virus is very common in hot weather due to mosquitoes. She should get better in 3-4 weeks. If she gets more pox scabs that are near eyes, you can put a little plain Neosporin ointment into her eyes twice a day. If you have other chickens, they will probably get pox as well. Probiotics in her diet may help. There is no treatment for pox. Here is an article about pox:

Thank you!! So it sounds like I shouldn't panic too much just yet? I'm looking into ordering the vaccine for the others just in case...figured it may be worth trying to beat it with them if I can. Poor Little! She's the runt of the group and just can't catch a break.
