I hope someone can help me. I have a GQF sportsman incubator. It keeps perfect temp. but the humidity wont get any higher then 50-55% unless I spritz the eggs 2 or 3 times a day. It then goes up to 70 for a little while. The chicks are fully formed and will even pip sometimes only to die before they get out. This is every hatch. Can anyone suggest something to help fix this?

I would suggest lowering the humidity. 50-55% is good for lockdown but not for days 1-18. Don't spritz the eggs, doing that can cause them to drown. Which is what probably happened. I can say that because I have done the same thing in the past

So decrease the humidity to about 30%.

I agree, I only run around 35% for the first 18 days and then 55-60 for lock down. Ive only had 1 bad hatch and it was due to shipped eggs and turner that was on the fritz.
