Poor man's chicken tractor

A 4 X 4 pen would not be big enough for a feed & water containers and any chickens though.

Yeah I know that one is going to be a bit on the small side but I'll make it work. The other tractors are going to be bigger than that one. I'm thinking as the birds grow I can arrange them by size and size needed.

Okay guys here's an update I'll put a few of the leghorns inside of it and added some wheels.

Do you put a tarp on it? Is it a night house?

I throw a tarp on it at night for now until I get it situated with something more perminant.

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to add my opinion. Are those chicken tractors the day time run or do they live in them day and night time? They would need a roosting area if not and laying boxes and a little more room.

Not sure what he plans to do with his birds but typically this type of setup is used for breeds that are raised for meat. They tend to grow to 5-8 lbs by 8 weeks old and are then processed there's no need for nesting boxes or more elaborate setups.
