My pet goose Olly, is off her feet. She seems to want to graze and get around but her legs wont carry her. Her poo's are firm and her vent is clean ,her eyes do seem a little mucky. Her crop seems to be very large but it is not hard to the touch. A local goose 'expert' suggested I feed her some shell grit which she gobbled up with gusto. She has plenty of vegetation to graze and always has fresh clean water to swim in and drink. Please help, she is a dear little friend.

Hi && Welcome!!!

Hello and welcome. Sorry about Olly. I don't know much about geese. I'd try posting a question in the Geese section and the" Emergency, Diseases, Injurys and Cures" section. Good luck!

Thank You to everyone who has welcomed me. Poultry people are friendly aren't they. I don't have any chickens at the moment but I have had them as pets since I was 14 or so. We have 2 white geese, who are just the most lovely companions. Olly as you know came to us on christmas eve and then we bought Honk to keep her company. We live on a suburban 1/4 acre block, we have had a complaint or two but acording to local regulations we are aloud to keep up to 25 fowl on our block. Someone somewhere may have overloooked the amount of noise 25 geese could make , not to worry it's all in our favour so we are not complaining. We also have 4 dogs, 6 cats , fish and budgies...I think Americans call them parakeets. As you can probably tell, we need more room and a move to a big rural property is in the planning. Hopefully this Spring. Fingers crossed. Thank You all again for being so friendly.
