I have a white goose, I don't know her age as we found her wandering down the road on christmas eve 3 years ago. About 4 days ago we noticed that she was stumbling alot, which has progressed to her just sitting and being unable to get up. Her crop seems swollen ,but is not hard to the touch. Her back end seems fine, her vent is clean and her poos are firm. There is no obvious swelling, or anything that looks like a stuck egg. Her eyes are a bit mucky and appear to be sucken. I am getting very worried about her. When I offer her food and water she takes it with gusto. Any ideas???? Thank you.

Maybe her eyes appear sunken because she is dehydrated. Have you checked her feet for bumblefoot or her legs for any injuries? Did she have access to a pond or a place to bathe before? Will she allow you to tkae her to the water to see if floating feels better? I hope she bounces back for you!

Her feet appear to be fine, I'm afraid I don't know what bubble foot is. Does it have obvious visable symptoms? I have checked her all over and I can't see any injuries at all. I have been offering her food and water about once an hour all day. She is eating and drinking. Do you think I should syringe feed her some fluids?

Yes she has a pond, I took her and put her in the water, she wanted to get out right away. I made her stay in for a little while. She floated but didn't want to swim.

If she's eating and drinking, I wouldn't try to syringe feed her anything. Is she sitting on a clutch of eggs or a nest that she might think has eggs in it?

Thank You everyone for your well wishes. Unfortunatly Olly died over night. Her friend Honk is distraught. Honk keeps calling and making a low soft noise that I can only describe as sobbing. My partner and I are very upset. We were both very very fond of our little girl.
