I recently went to an animal swap. I love the swaps and the unique experience. I was looking for a young Tom and found the perfect one, he looked sad but healthy. I know with a swap you really don't know what your getting completly or if they're totally healthy. I get him home and after a little while you can definitly here an almost gurgling noise he's making. He also almost looks like he's choking or gagging on something every now and then. He's a little slower and lazier than my 2 hens.

Does anyone know what could be wrong with him? I'm guessing something respiratory but I'm not sure. I would love to help him! He seemed as though he had never even seen or eaten grass! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

sounds like a respiratory issue, see if you can get some Baytril, Tylan, or other antibiotic from the vet asap. Some vets will let you have the antibiotics without having to bring in the animal, others won't. You may be able to order it from First State Veterinary Supply or some other online source, but it sounds like you need to get something on him right away.

Sounds like a respiratory problem. Tylan will knock that right out. I had a turkey that had the same thing and I gave him a shot of Tylan and in a couple of days, he was like NEW !

Hi I raise Turkey and Tylan is a good start .03 cc per 5 LB inject in the chest mussle make sure you don't draw up blood then inject. Give for 5 days you should see a great improvement in 2 days. Good Luck!

I just wanted to let y'all know mr turkey already seems like he's doing better. Thanks alot for all your help
