Poorly Brahma????

Hi

We are reletively new to chickens and have 2 young Brahma and 3 Goldlines. None of them are laying yet, but should be any day now!!

For the past few days our golden Brahma has seemd to be sleeping alot and is walking around with her tail very low. She is still eating and drinking well, scratching around the pen like normal, its just her stance and her sleeping that is getting us a little worried.

WE have managed to get hold of her (still runs around very fast!) and done the basic checks, crop, clean backend etc....although droppings are a little loose........she also seems to have developed a cough.

Any ideas? Is she coming into lay and having a few problems? Has she contracted some disease/virus?

ANy suggestions would be greatful.

I would think that a respiratory ailment would have had to be gotten by contact with another chicken who had it. Most likely recently. Either way, the first thing I would do is put Tylan in the water. An antibiotic.
