Hi, I REALLY need help.
I have a chicken who is around 1 year old. She went broody earlier this year and after a while I gave her some chicks to rear which she did brilliantly. She rejected them around 6 weeks and she went back with the original flock (four including her). She has been laying fine now for around 6 weeks but I noticed she had a dirty bottom so cleaned her up and noticed her prolapse. It looked REALLY sore and so I smothered it in honey, washed her up and isolated her.
I've done that for five days now. The prolapse looking better but it is out every day despite me putting it back in. She has laid a couple of eggs despite being in the dark. She is now not eating and I am concerned for her. I can't afford expensive vet bills and don't know what to do for her.
Help and advice gratefully received.
Thanks
