Are you in the UK? I'm not sure I would use that product for poultry. It has a neuro toxic ingredient (benzyl alcohol), and even in small doses, I would not risk it.

Surely you can find over the counter vaginal yeast cream. It's designed to use internally, while Canesten is more of a topical yeast infection treatment, also called thrush or athlete's foot.

I'm not a chemist.. Monistat contains Benzoic Acid.

Benzoic acid is a preservative and a food additive and is safe. Benzyl acohol is a solvent and a thinning agent and has neruro toxic properties. Humans can handle this substance as it's in a similar category as vodka, but I still would hesitate to let a chicken consume it. I am not a chemist, either, but I've learned to be cautious about anything in the solvent category.
 
thank you for all the advice, unfortunately i have had to make the decision to euthanise her on thursday, vet has said they can't do anything for her now ....very very sad:hit
