So this device is sold by Strombergs as a waterer.
It totally stinks as a waterer, spills galore, but it dawned on me that it might work as a cage feeder.
I ground open the slot with a dremel and voila!

That will work a lot better in my breaker than the little Tupperware containers they keep knocking over or crapping in.

I've been using cage cups, which work pretty well(especially if you bend the metal hangers a bit) but I got tired of refilling them multiple times a day.

I use them for water and they don't spill unless you shake the cage or put the lid on wrong.

Good idea about the feed though. Might try that with my babies next time

I found them to be messy, but I'm used to horizontal nipples, which are superior to any other waterer, hands down. :D

I believe that I once had a parakeet feeder that worked along those same principles.
Yep, I had one too...was like a glass test tube to hold the water.
Was great for budgies and finches, the cockatiel tore it up tho.
