What breed might this be? Are they likely mixed breed?

The hen is probably a buff orpington, but I don't know what the rooster is....

Agree with the others.
Your hen looks sadly over-mated in the photo because of her feather loss, unless you know there is another cause. She may need a break from the rooster or a hen apron.

I have sad news. Corn The hen died yesterday

Her back had feathers loss because my neighbor had 2 roosters & many hens, but we live near woods full of coyotes & predator birds.
