I use the app for the iPhone to access the site as well as my phone and desktop browser. I don’t get pop ups but just in-stream adds. For vacuum cleaners mostly. I guess this is how the site is paid for?

I do understand that adds are necessary, but it's these new ones that obscure the text that are so annoying. Not to mention the occasional 'porno' adds!

Do you have ‘Pop-Up Blocker’ enabled for your web browser?

What kind of web browser are you using?

Sometimes unnecessary bloatware on a machine can do this as well.
