is the mottling more like what is on the front of his chest? Im new to the color, the 2 hens have alot more motteling then he does, he seems to just have it on his chest...

this pic shows the chest a little more..

I got to do something to his spurs, he grows some daggers for such a little guy... i will give the hot potatoe thing a try and if it dont work I will do the pliers.

I don't see it, but even that photo isn't really a good chest shot

If he is mottled, it should show up on all his feaehrs, although a young bird shows less white than an older one. Each year they become more white.

Here is a porcelain hen from www.bantychicken.com/oegbca

And here is a porcelain d'uccle cock from feathersite

I also agree about the lack of mottling he should have the appearance of a Millie Fleur pattern but with the porcelain color
He would have the blue or some people call it lavender color with the white mottles I use to raise these and some call what you have a porcelain but I disagree.

He has the speckles on his chest but not as much as those pics! that is beautiful! Something to shoot for

Maybe the girls can help jack it up a notch .

Age will help. It is also possible that he only carries one copy of mottle--it's recessive, but can be leaky. I have a couple of split mottles who have a very samll amount of mottle showing. DGD loves them.
