we had a big porkypine in the yard last night we they bother the chickens it did not go by the coop at all
 
I don't believe a porcupine will attack the chickens, no. They aren't meat eaters. It may try to defend itself if a chicken becomes too curious, which may not be pretty if the quills get stuck in a chicken's face, though, but they are mostly nocturnal in heavily populated areas, I think. Could be wrong about that. They do forage during the day.
