I want to give my girls some more freedom. Our 1+ acre yard is fenced in (dog/goat proof, but chickens could get over the fence). I don't want to do a permanent run, but wanted to buy some of the portable electric fencing so that I can move them about the yard, let areas rest and keep them out of the children's play area. Please keep in mind they would only be out in the portable while I am home, otherwise they are in their protected run/coop area.

Where did you get your portable electric fencing?
What size (height x length)?
What did you pay?
Any pros/cons to this type of fencing?
Oh, I have about 20 pullets that I need to let run around if that makes any difference...

Thanks in advance for your comments!

I recommend zareba Systems Portable electric fence. If you are looking for a portable electric fence
kits, Zareba has them and include all the components you need for installation, including the fence charger, the wire, and posts.
The good things about temporary electric fence systems is that they can also be easily moved by using a battery or solar fence charger, poly wire or tape or rope and other lightweight components. Keep in mind, temporary fences typically run for short distances, are affordable and very quick to install which means less hassles. Hope this helps!
