i honestly have no idea i got an assorted dozen of eggs at a local farm for incubation... almost all of my chicks are different... probably all mixes. i just think its strange that (s)he is developing much faster in that area than all of the other chicks... hes also on the smaller side
They are Chicken Surprise! Big pink comb at that age is always a boy, and that is a big comb. If it keeps growing at this rate, I wonder if he's going to be able to hold his head up in a couple of months!!!!
haha it kinda stinks though because i've been through so much with this little guy... long story short he was born with the umbilical cord (at least i think thats what it was) still attached and it wouldnt come off. so i waited ( a loonnggg time while he was alone in the incubator
) until it dried and i cut most of it off and had to leave a little because i didnt want him to bleed. that being said it just fell off finally about 9 or 10 days ago! i had nine chicks hatch in total so i'm only going to be able to keep one or two roosters.. i hope there's not a lot more because i've grown so attached to all of them!!
And you're right it is a chicken surprise! i don't want them to grow up too fast but i'm dying to know how they're gonna look when they're all grown up!
