Possible ant bite?

Hello!
So my welsh Piggly will have limping spells pretty regularly. She will limp for a couple days, then be fine. Then limp. It’s a vicious cycle that I cannot seem to remedy properly. I keep trying to witness what causes this, but have yet to. Until...

this afternoon she was laying in the grass duck napping, when suddenly she let out three sharp quacks and hurriedly stumbled to her feet. She was sound asleep! Right when she got to her feet the limping was present, and she limped her way to her usual hiding place.

After examining her foot I don’t see a thing.. like always. Could it have been a bite or a sting? And if so, how do I treat? I just found it odd to finally witness the “injury” in the moment.. nothing was happening! And what’s even more bizarre to me is why is it always my welsh that do this.. none of my other ducks have ever had a limping problem.

For what it’s worth, I do treat with super b complex and also polyvisol. I’d sure appreciate any input. Thank you!

Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate it. The bottom of her foot looks completely normal, no bumble, no swelling or even discoloration. That’s my confusion. Possibly something stung the foot, the leg.. I just don’t know. The way she jumped up reminded me of how any person would jump or be startled after getting a bite or injury of some sort. She’s still limping today... and this has become the norm. She limps a few days, then she’s fine. Then repeat. I’m just at a loss.

Does the bottom of her feet look good now bumble? She may have gotten stung but seems you see some swelling or redness where it happened if that was the case.
Is she laying? Does she do this at any particular time of day?

Sorry, forgot to mention.. no, she is not paying yet. She’s around 4 months old. She doesn’t do it at any particular time but I’m going to guesstimate it’s during the afternoon, that’s typically when her session of limping will begin for a few day stretch.

You could try giving her a few days rest with water therapy and see if that helps. How much b complex are you giving they need 1 ml daily. Sometimes these limps are hard to figure out. It’s usually my Runners that come up limping and since they rarely walk anywhere I assume that’s their problem and after a few days rest they are back to normal. You can just try a few things and see if it helps. Also check for redness if an ant bite or some other insect bite seems there would be an area of redness or swelling

Thank you, I will definitely continue my rest periods. I do give them 1ml of the complex, I also massage her feet and legs at bedtime too. I don’t know if I’ll ever figure it out!
