Hello,

I have two Blue Langshan 6 weeks old, give a day or two.

They were the same size when I got them, but then one started getting a bit bigger than the other and feathering out much faster.

The smaller one has a more pronounced comb with red tinge to it and shows red wattles already. Even the feathers on the back of the neck seem to be a bit more pointy and thinner.

So, I'm curious what you all think. Is it possibly a roo?

The first picture is the larger one that I believe is a girl. The last two pictures are of the one I believe is the roo.

Sorry for the poor pictures, they don't hold still very well :)

Thanks!

He is definitely a beautiful bird. I was excited when one of my pullets turned out to be a cockerel also. I can't wait till spring now I hope I get some chicks next year.

I'm now anxious :) to see how he turns out. I do not know a lot about the langshan breed except what I have been trying to research, but I think they stay fairly docile...we shall see.
