today we found one of our girls attacked by other birds and we put her in a private pen with food and water and heat but she isn't using left leg she is sitting on her elbow i think the leg might be broken. What to do. HELP!!!!!

Could be a sprain, dislocation, or a break and a physical assessment needs to be done to evaluate it.

You'll need to feel her leg from her toes to her upper thighs. Make as many observations as possible. Does it feel like there is a break or a dislocation? Does it feel warm or hot anywhere? Can she grip your fingers with her toes? Can she stand on it at all? Does she show pain when your touching her leg?

She won't let me touch her and appears to be in some pain. The real injury is on the other side on her rear end where they have pecked her to pieces. she is eating but no weight on this leg at all. maybe I will give her some time as they really did a number on her, the bleeding has stopped. at least she is not shaking any more. She is alert but cautious. I check on her every hour or so.

Make sure you keep her warm. Clean any wounds and apply a wound care such as Veterycin or Blu-Kote.

Is there any way you can take her to a vet? If it's a sprain that occurred from trying to get away from the abuse then she just needs time to heal in isolation which can take several days to several weeks depending on the severity. Swelling would need to be soaked in Epsom Salts to bring the swelling down. But a break or dislocation should be treated by a professional if possible.

thank you advice taken, she seem better today still not standing but doesn't appear to be in much pain. she is in a house of her own with heat food and water
