Possible broody hen?

She was the only layer until just recently. One of my golden seabrights just started laying as well. My husband just took her egg and put it under Pebbles (my broody hen).

How long will she lay on the eggs? Curious as to when I should be looking for chicks.

20 to 21 days. (I've heard that bantam breeds may hatch a day earlier than large fowl, dunno if that's true in every case, though.)

So you've got 3 weeks of waiting for chicks. Good luck!

You have to put all the eggs at the SAME time ,under her. So the chicks will born more or less,all at the same time, withing one day or 2. Then the hen will leave the nest and the rest of the eggs, with or without chicks inside.

I have two BBR OEG and one Red pyle OEG.I have 6 total chickens. May be needing to get rid of two of the roos. I only have 3 hens.
