Possible bumble foot

Thank you for the photos.

I don't really see anything concerning. I would give her a soaking for a few days and limited activity to see if that helps, then go from there.

I do understand your worry about the wet ground, so you are doing the right thing by providing dry areas.

Well I have bad news I left her in the small coop for a few days then let her out as she was pacing and unhappy constantly so I figured if it was a strain she’d do just as much damage there. Today I rechecked it because it’s not getting any better and it looks like it could be the start of bumble foot so I’m going to soak it again tomorrow and try to drain it even though it doesn’t have a nasty black crust head over it yet I don’t want it to get to that point because we have no vets here that will treat a chicken to get antibiotics or anything from so I would be winging it by just common knowledge on how to treat her. If I can get it open I actually have bactroban ointment that’s for staph I’m an open heart nurse and we use it for staph but I’m not sure if it’s safe for chickens

In this case, I would wait. I don't see anything to remove, and I wouldn't just cut or dig unnecessarily, you could just make it worse. I think I would just do daily soaks as long as you see symptoms, maybe spray some veterycin spray on it, and just watch. If things get worse, then reassess.

Sounds like a good plan thank you so much

Ditto Dat^^^

Is that just dirt crammed into fold..and on 'bad' foot?
Clean that all out of there with soft toothbrush during foot soak,
then take pic.
How bad is she limping? If not too bad, let her be a chicken.

Yes it’s just dirt she just ran through the one muddy spot in the yard (they’re free range in a large yard) I’ve been soaking it a week now in Espon salt. I had her penned up but she didn’t like it and was pacing which is just as bad for it as her running around. She’s still limping really noticeably when she runs. She’s been this way since I got her almost two weeks ago so I’m not sure what the issue is it’s not hot just swollen and it just started swelling at first it wasn’t even swollen or red.

Yes, agrees, as long as she can get around ok to eat, drink, act like a chicken I'd not confine her.
So nothing under that dirt when you washed it off?
It's hard to say why she's limping and that one toe is swollen.
She could have a leg injury, prior to you getting her, that impedes circulation.
Just keep an eye on it...definitely don't go cutting/digging/draining.

Right nothing under there when I wash it off. I have examined every inch of her leg and foot and I can’t find any obvious deformity or anywhere it could be poked where bacteria could’ve gotten in. I’m a nurse so I know not to go poking and digging at things so I’ve listened to advice on her and let that alone and just watched it. She’s limped like that even before the little center of her foot got swollen. But she eats and as soon as I come outside she comes running to me. I just worry because if it does get to the point of draining I’d have to do all the care on my own there’s no vet in our area or even within 80 miles of the area that will treat a chicken for me to even get antibiotics from so I’d be on my own. I know it’s a lot of worry over one bird that’s brand new but I love my birds and she’s so cute and sweet especially to be brand new here. She’s very friendly

I agree with @coach723 I would just wait and see. I do understand your worry. She may eventually show some infection or have a scab like you see with "traditional" bumblefoot. That would be the time to remove scabbing and any pus.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to source an antibiotic like Procaine Penicillin G when (IF) the time comes. Larger feed stores like Tractor Supply carry that. Alternatively, fish antibiotics can be ordered online, so that's something to look into as well.
