Hi There

Pretty new to keeping chickens. Embarrassingly enough it seems half of my flock has bumblefoot without me noticing until last week. I believe it's because their roost was too high (I have heavier breeds)

I have soaked my first hens feet in ebsom salt, disinfected and wrapped it.

My question is should I disinfect my coop? Should I isolate the affected chickens?

There is no need to isolate the affected chickens unless they are being targeted by the rest of the flock. There would be no harm in cleaning and disinfecting the coop. Just be sure if you had to remove any/all of their scabs to have their feet wrapped to prevent dirt/debris to get in and cause more problems. Good luck with the healing process! I have 2 of my girls being treated for Bumblefoot as well...

No and no to your two questions.

Did you dig out the plug/pus on their feet or just remove the scab?

I thought I dug out plug on the hen last night. Heres some pictures from last night and one from today. How do you know if you got it all? Collage 2018-07-17 22_09_22.jpg Collage 2018-07-17 22_09_22.jpg Collage 2018-07-17 22_09_22.jpg Collage 2018-07-17 22_09_22.jpg 20180718_174618.jpg

After soaking the foot and removing the scab, a plug of hardened pus is usually attached. When you squeeze it like a zit, hardened pus should extract. Sometimes it will takes several days of soaking, disinfecting, and prodding. Sometimes weeks, even, depending on the severity.

x2 this^

I'm having trouble telling in your picture...did you squeeze or dig stuff out after you took the scab off?
