A few days ago I noticed my bantam acting strange. She was hunched and acting very lethargic. She hasn't eaten much and is not laying. I tried soaking her in warm water and giving her Tums thinking it was eggbound but I don't feel any egg. Today she started having bloody droppings. For the past 2 days the droppings have been white with a little brown and sort of like mucus.
What should I treat her with? Is there anything I can do to save her? I believe she is about a year old but I am not sure. We got her last summer at an auction. I am trying to feed her boiled eggs, yogurt, anything but she won't eat much. She has been inside for a while and I am trying everything to save her but she only seems to be getting worse.

It's very unusual for a chicken that age to develop cocci; how much blood are we talking about? Could she have swallowed something that has caused intestinal rupture or something? As a first resort, I'd offer yogurt - plain; if she's got an upset in her intestinal tract, this will give her the probiotics she needs to correct it. If she's not eating, though, you may need to scoop a bit into her beak, or even water it down a bit & syringe it slowly in.

I don't think she ate anything. She has been in the house for about a week or so. She was attacked last week by her coop mates and they almost scalped her. I brought her inside and she was doing great until suddenly Sunday morning. Saturday night she was fine. I have given her yogurt and also a boiled egg and she won't eat it. I may try to put some in her beak and see if that helps. She isn't perching, laying or doing much walking. She just stays hunched with her head in a corner and her eyes closed. I was wondering if I should give her some type of antibiotic, all I have is Duramycin. But I don't want to treat if not necessary. The poop today was probably 70% blood and the rest was white and mucousy.

Also, is it possible it may be worms? I have never dewormed her but never seen any worms in her poop either. Would it hurt to start her on some Wazine now?
