Possible fowl pox (Dry)

I have seen some scab-like things on combs of two of our hens--how will I know if it is fowl pox? Right now it just looks like scabs, but will they grow if it is fowl pox? Should I isolate them? What else should I do? It doesn't look like it is fowl pox to me, but does it usully start as little dark red dots?

You need to post some pictures of this please. Generally speaking when they have fowl pox the skin will form a little lump, grow bigger and then a scab will start forming.

No lumps. Phew. They had a recent run-in with dogs and maybe the scabs are a result of this.
