Possible ingrown feather

Over the past couple of
days, I've noticed this red bump on my Light Brahma rooster's foot. There's no other sign of injury, and he's otherwise acting, eating, and drinking fine. He has a slight limp if he tries to run. My first thought was an ingrown feather since it's a single bump on the outside of his right little toe, right inline with his feet feathers.
I've read to soak it in Epson salt and try to pick the feather out.

Or is this something else? I've never had a foot feathered chicken before and I've also never seen this before. Any ideas or success treating whatever this is? Thanks so much!

I recommend you treat it like a bumble: cut it open, rinse out the wound, and wrap with vet wrap and regular antibiotic cream. Don’t use the cream with pain relief, as it’s usually too strong and could make the chicken sick.
