I posted a thread a few days ago about my sick chickens. I referenced it below. Thank you for the responses to that post!
Today I took my sick silkie to the vet. We lost two other 6 month old pullets about a month ago to an unknown sickness.
The vet is suspecting Mareks.
she said if it comes back as Mareks then I'll have to euthanize my entire flock?! Is this true? Everything I've read is that most vaccinated chickens will survive....
Anyway, hes being flown to Washington State University for a Necropsy. Very anxious on results.
Is it true that I'll have to put my entire flock down if it's intact Mareks??
I have 12 total chickens. All are about 5 to 6 months old. Most are vaccinated. I have 3 silkies that are NOT.
