Hi guys!
I've never seen/heard of chicken mites sooo help me out here hahaha. This morning my husband was in the coop getting eggs and when he got out there were TONS of SUPER TINY whitish looking bugs crawling all over him. They were all up on the walls too. So small, smaller then the tip of a pen. What are they? Are they mites? Lice? How do you get rid of/manage them?? I tried to google it to get an image, but I'm not having any luck. I can't take a pic, they're too small and don't show up :(. I didn't really see anything abnormal going on with my hens. The bugs have 8 legs (I think-they're so tiny I could hardly count). Help me please!!!

You can dust the chickens rumps with sevin dust FOR VEGGIES or poultry dust if your local farm supply has it, and around the coop on the outside you can use sevin dust for the yard if you like. I prefer to be liberal with diatomaceous earth in and around the coop and you can mix a little (2%) with the feed to worm the chickens as well. Mites I am familiar with are red so hopefully someone else will know what you have.
