Hey guys. I just realized one of my pullets have scaly legs. Is this a sign of mites?
Would you say it’s true? If so, how can I get rid of it?
I appreciate your input!!!
If it is leg mites, it is mild. You can first soak the legs in a warm pan of soapy water, and gently scrub with a toothbrush to loosen scales. Dry them then once a week, apply a thick oil, such as castor oil, crisco shortening, vaseline, or vegetable oil, and rub into scales. http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/scaly-leg-mites-in-chickens/
