Possible Newcastle case?

@Wyorp Rock
I’m at work right now, I’ll get pictures when I get home. Yesterday her crop felt empty and abdomen normal. I have no idea when her last egg was. I have 31 hens (probably 22 laying?) and her egg color is not unique so I don’t keep up. Honestly none of them have been laying as well as I expect. I thought it was due to extreme heat a few weeks ago but it’s only marginally improved since the weather cooled.

She does seem to have labored breathing at times and had the eye discharge I mentioned before. Both seemed somewhat improved this morning, and she has been standing for a few minutes occasionally. No attempt to walk, eat or drink on her own.

They don’t have access to compost. I throw kitchen and garden scraps out to them but nothing moldy, mostly cucumber, tomato and berries lately. They don’t free range anymore since we’ve had foxes move in.

I will pick up the other vitamins after work. Thanks for the dosing.

Ok, things are starting to make more sense…she seemed somewhat better when I got home from work, holding her head up a little more and more alert. She still won’t eat or drink. I tried washing the debris off her head and it didn’t come off. I’m guessing these dark spots point to fowl pox and the wry neck is a secondary issue because she hasn’t been eating or drinking. Thoughts?

I think the dark places is debris or dirt collected on her face due to the eye discharge.

Could she have been beat up by other hens or a rooster?
I'd flush her eye with saline, wipe out the debris and apply Terramycin eye ointment or Original Neosporin in the eye.
Rub a bit of Original Neosporin, Terramycin or vaseline on her facial tissue and comb. I'd like to see the rest of her comb and other side of her face if possible.

Do get keep her hydrated and get the vitamins into her. Extra protein like egg, fish or meat in addition to her normal feed. She may be able to eat wet food easier than dry.

Take another look for lice/mites while you're at it.

Home late tonight. She seems a little improved, her eye has fewer bubbles and she was more willing to take water from a dropper. Still not eating. I don’t see any evidence of lice or mites. We don’t have a rooster. Some of my hens are quite bossy, but she is not usually one that gets picked on. Tried to get better close ups of her head. She was not a fan lol. She does still have some debris at the back of her comb, but it mostly seems to be warty lesions. She gets very agitated when I try to touch her. Maybe they hurt?

Looks like scabs, a cut and debris stuck on her comb. Still looks like injury to me.
Clean her eye, apply the ointment in her eye. Do this at least twice day.
Vaseline on the comb will help loosen that debris.
Vaseline or ointment on her facial tissue surrounding the eye will help loosen the debris as well.

Vitamin Therapy, hydration and food. If you need to, double up on the Vitamin E and B-complex for about 3 days and see if that helps.

Yes, she has debris stuck there. Sunday before I removed her from the coop she was in the dirtiest area under the roosting bar flopping her head around in the sand, but there were no fresh wounds that I noticed. I moved her outside where she pooped and then lay her head in it, picking up that stuck bit of mulch. She had tried to walk but only stumbled backwards and fell. I moved her to the garage expecting her to only make it a few more hours. When she was still alive Monday I washed the rest of her head but it didn’t seem worth making her so upset to pick off the stuck bits like that one. Pics are pre-vaseline/neosporin in case it made the details harder to see in pictures.
