Possible posioning?

My sweet pet goose, Sprite died this morning. He was acting wobbly and had his neck down not able to honk the day before but seemed to get better the night. I stuck him in the quarantine pen and the next morning he was dead. My cat was suspected of intentional posioning by rat poison and died yesterday at the vet. Do you think these two are related deaths? He's getting a nercopsy hopefully done soon but I'm just worried if this might be something that's contagious.

I'm so sorry about your sweet goose. It sounds like it's probably from the same thing. Do you have rat poisoning somewhere in your yard?

No, I've never used it before. I live in the middle of nowhere so the closest neighbor is a mile away. But the cat was confirmed to be posioned by rat poison
