Hello,
so recently I've noticed that a couple of my hens might have a respiratory problem or something? One of them makes a rattly noise and the other one takes deep breaths of air frequently. They also spend a lot of time a bit hunched up and have a bit of a shiver at times.

i've noticed that another one of the hens is gasping now! what should i do?

I was talking to someone at a feed store and she said they probably have a cold and i could give them electrolytes but I was under the impression that chickens don't catch colds?

That sounds exactly like what three of my chickens have! I think it might be Infectious Laryngotracheitis. Luckily, there's tons of sites out there with really helpful information so you can see if it fits what your chickens have.
(And I'm pretty sure you're right. Chickens with colds just doesn't happen.)
