Right. Round 2. I picked these 3 up already in a box and waiting. Apparently all the same age despite one EE being literally half the size of the other two

Do you think these are all girls? I’m worried about the Marans/EE hybrid (fluffy-footed one)

Pretty sure she's a pullet too. Update us on her in 2 weeks. Black chickens are hard to see saddles on.

I have a lot of black chicks so I had to figure something out.

Friends, I’ve tried to get some better photos of the questionable chicken’s saddle feathers but they’re mostly still growing in (feathers coming in on the saddle area mostly pins still) - this one came to me with a bit of a bald patch on its back. This one is also a fan of snuggling, and kept trying to rearrange my skirt to make a nicer bed instead of holding still for photos I’ve also gotten a closer-up pic of its neck - I don’t think I see pointy hackles, but you guys are the experts!

They’re (supposedly) 13-14 weeks now, and this one doesn’t have any reddening or real comb development, so fingers crossed for a pullet.

(As an aside, I’ve dosed them for lice and mites (karbodust and diatomaceous earth) because they all have pretty raggedy feathers - hoping that plus a good diet will take care of that.)
