My favorite rooster has a posssible sprained leg. He's 8 weeks, RIR. I checked for breaks, none. He holds it up under him. Can still stand for short periods. I wrapped it and have him separated. It is no longer cold to the touch and has regained some grip in it. Still eating and drinking, and pooping. So, my question is, how long does it usually take to heal? It's already been 4 days...
Thank you!!

Check the bottom of his foot for bumblefoot. Is his leg swollen? Foot swollen? If it is a sprain, depending on the severity,it could take a week or two to heal. For the sprain I would put him in a cage with hay in it so he cant roost on a perch, putting weight on it.

Nope, no wounds or bumblefoot. I do have him in a dog crate...

Great, sounds like good news so far. Just keep him in your dog crate and let him rest for as long as it takes for the sprained leg to heal. It could take a few days to a couple of weeks, but the way it sounds, probably 3 or 4 days he should be ok. Good luck.
