I keep reading that it's possible to sex Cochins at 3 weeks of age. Is this true??? My Frizzle Cochin is 3 weeks and I picked it out of the straight run bin. The single comb is flat to the head and very tiny. Not to mention it's very yellow. Could I be lucky and pick a girl? I thought I would have to wait until Daisy was much older. This would really put my mind at ease.

So, what do you think?? Pullet?

. It's not the best pic of her comb, you can't see it anyways.:p

X 2. It is difficult for Cochins at that age, if I had to hazard a guess I would say it's a girl, but it is a guess. You may want to check out the Cochin thread and ask someone there if they can check out your pics. Maybe the experts would have a better idea

Did you ever discover if your chick is a pullet or cockerel? I'm curious... I have a lemon blue chick, of course I think it's a pullet, but......

Pullet all the way! She is a fabulous layer with several eggs a week! :D

She didn't grow any new feathers until 5 weeks of age. She was very slow to feather.
