Possibly a stupid question

In my Back Yard Poultry mag. there is an add by JM Hatchery selling Muscovy ducks, it might just be from state to state as to how you can own them.
 
I have 2 geese, an African and Embden. The Emden is generally quiet unless spooked or protective... the African never shuts up if we go out in the yard.
