Possibly broody hen?!

Hi!
My polish hen is sitting on 5 or 6 eggs and will not get up...she has been there for an hour or 2. Is she broody? I put water and food near her and she ate that but will not get out of the nesting box. Please help!

She may very well be broody. If she stays on the nest overnight, she is. If you are going to allow her to brood, keep the food and water AWAY from the nest. You want her to leave the nest daily so that she does not defecate there and ruin the eggs.

The real test is if she is there for three days and nights. She will get up to eat drink and do her thing but then its back to the nest. She will also peck at yo if you go near the eggs. I have a bird tha loves to sit on eggs for a few hours but then gets up and back to normal
