Possibly may have 3 roosters but I'm not certain. I believe they have saddle feathers but I'm not sure if they are old enough to have saddle feathers or the curved tail feathers and the tail feathers that stick way up (not sure what the name for that is, sorry!!). I don't have a recent pic of them but I'll post one soon. I also am curious if one of my ducks are male since one is slightly smaller than the other but I don't know anything about birds like chickens and ducks, just what I have learned so far. I'm new to this whole thing and am lost. My whole reason for asking about characteristics of roosters to tell if I do have three is because I didn't want a rooster this early on. I do want to have baby chickens later on but mostly wanted eggs for eating, and meat birds for eating later on after having some babies. I have hear the roosters help them produce eggs but also know that they fertilize them, making it possible for the chick embryo to be inside. Is this a myth or true? So many questions and I apologize it's under one thread but I wanted to keep it all together! I have read that roosters fertilize 14 eggs every 2 weeks. Is this is true since the internet can be incorrect...? I'm so confused and lost lol! Help!

How old are the birds? If they are at least 8 weeks old, we can tell you if they are roosters.
You can still eat fertilized eggs. The embryo only starts to develop after 3 days of incubation.

From my experience, as well as hearsay from others, roos are typically more social towards people! Some also become the flock bully when they're young. We knew our BCM roo was different as well because of his weight. When we picked the others up they were relatively light, and even though he was the same size as them, he weighed a lot more! They can get the pointy saddle feathers pretty young, and a lot of times will develop some more intense and beautiful colors (depending on the breed).
