Possibly pox or mites?

Fowl pox is common in summer and fall when mosquitoes are out. It can be worse in hot humid areas, such as the South. Here in the Ohio Valley, we rarely see it, and I have only seen a single scab on a hen or two in the last 6-7 years. Leave scabs alone, or risk spreading the disease. Separate the ones with pox if possible. A pox vaccine is available in areas prone to the disease, but only for those not yet exposed.
Thank you for the info! I am in Middle Georgia where we breed the mosquito as our state bird! Haha. Mosquitoes are terrible here. That's probably how it was started. I have one flock that is separated into to smaller pens until we build the big pen (just finished building our new house). I think with the skeeters and the close proximity they all have been exposed at this point. Would Sav-a-chick be beneficial for added vitamins and electrolytes or would it be more of a waste of time?

Vitamins and electrolytes are probably not necessary, unless they are having problems with the heat, ot if one looks weak. You may want to treat your coop area with some chicken safe permethrin 10% spray, and follow directions for mixing. Empty water vessels daily and refill, and do the usual things to help prevent mosquitoes.

Thank you! I will watch for signs of lethargy. So far none of them have had any loss of appetite! My chickens love to eat!!!
