We have 6 Pearl Guinea Fowl (4 male, 2 female). One of our females has become noticeably skinny with some ruffled or loose downing feathers over a 2 day time span. She is acting pretty normal, still on her feet, running around, eating feed, etc. I'm just worried about the dramatic size difference over the weekend. Is it a possible worm issue?

Welcome to BYC. How old are your guineas? What do the droppings look like? Pictures are welcome. I have knowledge of chickens, but not much with guinea fowl so I will let others advise you. You may also want to post a new thread on the guinea forum here:

About the only real difference in guinea fowl issues is that laying hens can be susceptible to calcium deficiency. If it is a worm issue, treating a guinea fowl would be the same as treating a chicken.

Thanks r2elk. Then I wouldlook at possible coccidiosis, worms, or a crop disorder. Feel the crop early in the AM before she has eaten to make sure that it is emptying overnight. Pictures of poop are welcome here. The age is important, since a young one might be more susceptible to coccidiosis, and Corid (amprollium) treats that.

The guineas are just over a year old.
Droppings are hard to determine which ones are hers and what is the others, there are both runny droppings and firmer droppings in the coop, but most droppings are firmer.
Thank you for your help and direction!
