Possibly sick peachick - poo pic

One of my 5 week old chicks is acting funny today and there has been diarrhea and now a weird poo. He only gained 3 grams last night and has been lagging behind his sister. Last night and then this afternoon he stands in front of their light with his chest puffed up and his head tucked back. I'm heading to the freed store for some Corid now. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

Are you using a quart sized waterer? If so, use 1/2 teaspoon per gallon quart. Additionally, mix 1/2 teaspoon powder with 2 teaspoons water and give 0.3 ml orally to each chick once or twice a day for 1-3 days.

Thank you! I'm using just some metal cups that clip onto the cage. Can I just put it in them? I have some droppers and can measure the 0.3ml.

The guy at the feed store said to take the pine shavings out and have them straight on wire. Would you also recommend this? Nut tends to eat the shavings. But they do prefer to have something to snuggle on.

Should I start immediately with the Corid or wait one more day to see if he gains again?

Since they like eating the shavings can you take them out and use a towel instead? I would give the Corid orally tonight as well as in their drinking water.
